Once attached to an underwater vehicle or carried underwater by a diver, the TRACKER provides accurate real time position updates to the surface. Initiated by GPS and continued with Doppler bottom tracking, the TRACKER navigation is fully independent from any kind of external references

THE PROBLEM: |
|
|
The fast and easy deployment advantages of AUV for survey operations are greatly diminished by the need of dedicated naval assets for mine identification & neutralization.
AUV can be easily transferred on station and deployed from any small boat but then, once possible targets are detected, the potentials of a naval vessel are still needed in order to positively identify mine-like objects and eventually neutralize them.
|
THE TRACKER SOLUTION: |
|
|
1.When installed on a suitable ROV, the TRACKER well complements AUV capabilities and transforms RHIB into complete and fast deployable mine countermeasure units
The two attributes that an ROV should possess in order to be able to carry out mine identification and neutralization missions are the following:
the ROV needs to be able to be guided to the same geographical coordinates (LAT/LON) identified by the AUV;
the ROV needs to be small, expandable and fully operable from the small boat.
The TRACKER is the only navigation system that satisfies both requirements: once installed onboard any small ROV, it automatically provides accurate guidance information directly to the laptop computer of the RHIB operator.
2. The TRACKER performs a very discreet navigation. No external acoustic reference is used. Its high frequency and low power Doppler beams are effectively attenuated few meters away.
3. The TRACKER supports an additional variety of uses:
port security ship hull inspection diver guidance
search & rescue beach recognition underwater works
