THE PROBLEM:
Most scientific or environmental communities cannot afford to collect geo-referenced underwater data simply on a as needed basis.
Geo-referencing underwater data requires specific ROV (or even AUV) to be properly outfitted with the required sensors and an accurate navigation system. The evident problem of this solution is the associated high cost: even if savings are realized on the vehicle and a USBL guided ROV is selected, it still requires that a properly equipped ship be manned and deployed.
THE TRACKER SOLUTION:
1.The TRACKER allows inexpensive and agile geo-referencing of underwater data.
The TRACKER is a navigation instrument that, with no need for any external acoustic reference (as the USBL), directly provides the operator with accurate real time position information:
Since no specific service is required from either the ROV or the support boat, both of them
can be as basic, inexpensive or agile as required by the application.
When a sensor is attached to the ROV and its output is connected to the TRACKER,
received data are automatically associated with the ROV position.


2. The TRACKER allows operations in areas not otherwise reachable.
The TRACKER only requires 25 cm of water depth for providing accurate navigation : this allows data collection in extremely shallow water or even inside sewage conduits.

3. Position accuracy of geo-referenced data is further enhanced with the provided re-navigation tools

4.All recorded data can also be displayed with reference to the morphology of underlying sea bottom
